Directions: 1) in large pot, brown 1 lb of one of the following meats: chicken, sausage or bacon with one chopped onion. 2) add 7-8 c water and package contents; boil for 15 mins, then simmer covered for approx 70 mins (add extra water if needed). 3) add 2-3 c shrimp or prawns, 28oz can diced tomatoes, 3 tbsp butter, 2 diced peppers, 1 c diced greens (option: add okra, swiss chard, or spinach). Cook until veggies are soft and shrimp is cooked (gumbo should be very thick). Season with salt and pepper. Note: for softer beans and faster cook time soak top portion of beans for 4-6 hrs. Please note that some ingredients may be field harvested. For best results inspect for elements of nature before cooking.
