This medium-full bodied, deep and smoky red wine, was aged in a mix of French and American oak barrels for just under a year. It is well structured, loaded with juicy dark fruit, oak spice and rustic charm.
The maréchal foch grapes are 100% Norfolk County fruit, sourced from Bonnieheath Estate, located about 30 minutes from our farm in Waterford. The 2019 season started with a cool, wet spring that put the vintage behind. Summer was marked by several heat waves that brought high humidity and some disease pressure in the vineyard. Fall was cool with some rain and cold snaps to begin the harvest season, but early ripening grapes succeeded.
